Here are some brief details of sittings

ADULT PORTRAITS
For these, the artist works in oils, entirely from life. A portrait will mean a number of sittings, ideally on consecutive days. Each sitting lasts 3 hours. The number of sittings needed depends on the size and type of portrait required. An oil sketch will take around 1 sitting and costs Ł750. For finished portraits, a head and shoulders will normally take around 5-7 sittings. Prices for these start at Ł2500.

CHILDREN'S PORTRAITS
With children, the artist works in oils or pastels from photographs which she herself takes in her studio in Somerset. This enables her to establish a rapport with the child, which is essential if a good likeness is to be painted, and to ensure a high quality photograph from which to work. Prices start from Ł950 for a pastel head and shoulders and Ł2000 for an oil three-quarter length painting. She does also do quick sketches from life - prices starting from Ł250. This will mean a half-day session with the child, with a number of quick sketches being done, and you can choose which one you would like. This option is only suitable for children old enough to sit still!

FAMILY PORTRAITS
Here, the artist takes photographs in situ. This should be easily accomplished in 1-2 visits to ensure enough information. Then she will work the photos up into a finished piece - either in pastel on cartridge paper or oil on canvas or board. These can be any size from very large (ie: 5 x 6 ft) down to very small (ie: 12 x 16 inches), and price is dependent on the size and medium chosen.
