I think this is something I’ll be coming back to time and again!
Glad you found it interesting/useful, Paul. It was quite good to dust off the cobwebs and put virtual pen to paper!
It was both interesting and useful! Any further advice gratefully received. I wish I could spend more time painting and learning about it.
Hi Rosanna and well done, lovely portraits and full of individual character, I keep on changing my mind as to which I like best. Skin looks great, extraordinarily clear on the boy’s picture. Brilliant idea to put the making of them on line this way, and show some of your other work at the same time.
Thank you so much, Olivia. In the words of Lennon and McCartney, it was a long and winding road. But a very interesting one and I got there in the end. Really pleased with the result.
Thank you so much Rosanna for this wonderful portrait of our daughter, Olivia. You have captured every aspect of her, simply stunning. You have described her so accurately, there is a definite glint in her eyes! We will treasure it always.
My absolute pleasure, Tracey. A beautiful subject always helps! Rosanna x
Your pastel portraits are brilliant! I can’t stop watching!
Thank you so much Aleksandra.
I really like your artworks.
Could you please tell me the size of the portrait?
This portrait is 30 x 25 inches (76 x 64cm)
Great article Rosanna!
My grandfather was an artist and so was my uncle, so I have drawing in my veins. Just the other day I was thinking “lines and angles”. I’m so glad an artist as fantastic as you has confirmed this,
Thank you very much, Craig.
I’m glad you found the article interesting. It never ceases to amaze me how the slightest adjustment of an angle can impact the entire drawing. This is undoubtably the most useful drawing exercise I know (even if not the most enjoyable!).
